Employee wellbeing and mental health: A strategic approach to sustainable workplace performance
Abstract
Employee wellbeing and mental health have emerged as strategic priorities for organisations seeking sustainable workplace performance. This secondary-data-based study synthesises findings from scholarly articles, industry reports, global health surveys, and organisational case studies to examine how wellbeing and mental health influence productivity, engagement, retention, and long-term organisational success. The review highlights that improved psychological health reduces stress, burnout, and absenteeism while enhancing job satisfaction, creativity, and performance. The paper concludes that mental health and wellbeing strategies must be integrated into organisational policies to build resilience, ensure sustainable performance, and maintain workforce competitiveness.
