Effect of gypsum and liquid organic nutrition on growth and yield of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)
Abstract
A field experiment was carried out during Rabi season of 2024, at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.) on sandy loam soil with neutral soil reaction to investigate the “Effect of Gypsum and Liquid Organic Nutrition on growth and yield of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.)”. The experiment was laid out in randomized block design (RBD) which consisted of ten treatment and replicated thrice. The treatment combinations are T1: Gypsum 200 kg/ha. + Panchagavya-3%, T2: Gypsum 200 kg/ha. + Vermiwash-10%, T3: Gypsum 200 kg/ha. + Cow urine -10%, T4: Gypsum 300 kg/ha. + Panchagavya -3%, T5: Gypsum 300 kg/ha. + Vermiwash -10%, T6: Gypsum 300 kg/ha. + Cow urine -10%, T7: Gypsum 400 kg/ha. + Panchagavya -3%, T8: Gypsum 400 kg/ha. + Vermiwash -10%, T9: Gypsum 400 kg/ha. + Cow urine -10%, T10: Control (RDF) - 60-80-30 NPK kg/ha. Application of Gypsum at 300 kg/ha along with Panchagavya -3% (Treatment 4) recorded significantly higher plant height (64.89 cm), plant dry weight (9.42 g/plant), number of capsule/plant (58.76), number of seeds/capsule (9.53), seed yield (1.59 t/ha), and stover yield (3.59 t/ha).
