Case report: Dystocia in goat due to foetal mummification
International Journal of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry · 2026 · Vol. 11(7) · pp. 14–15
Abstract
Dystocia usually occurs when the first or second stages of parturition are delayed or when the first stage fail to progress to the next stage within 30 minutes. An adult 3 year-old doe weighing around 25 kg and in advanced pregnancy was presented to Veterinary Hospital Chhuriya with a history of straining and restlessness indicative of dystocia. The external examination revealed swelling vulva and a string of clear to whitish yellow mucus hanging from vulva.
