Training need assessment of Village Assistants of Rythu Bharosa Kendras of Eluru District in Andhra Pradesh

Abstract

The research study was conducted during the year 2023-24 in Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh. A well-structured and pre-tested interview schedule was developed in accordance with the objectives of the study. Data was collected from the 60 farmers, who were selected following proportionate random sampling technique in five mandals and six villages of Eluru district. For the present study ex-post facto research design was followed as the independent variables selected for the study were already existed and could not be manipulated by the researcher. Statistical tools Mean, Standard Deviation, Frequency, Percentage, Ranking techniques were employed for interpreting the results. This study mainly emphasized the profile characteristics, training needs of the Village Assistants and also the constraints and suggestions they elicited for improving their productivity. The major areas that required training for Village Assistants were highest for IPM, micro and integrated nutrient management, and crop establishment practices, while mechanization and zero tillage ranked lower. Major constraints included complex e-crop booking, fertilizer distribution delays, lack of storage and network issues. Suggested measures focused on simplifying digital processes, improving logistics and strengthening infrastructure.
