Response of integrated nutrient management on growth and productivity of Maize (Zea mays L.) under different moisture conservation practices

Abstract

A field study was carried out during the kharif season of 2024 at the Agricultural Research Farm of Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur (Rajasthan) on loamy sand soil. The experiment was laid out in factorial randomized block design with soil moisture conservation practices and integrated nutrient management practices in maize. The experiment consisted sixteen treatments viz., two factors with where 4 levels of soil moisture conservation practices and four source of nutrient management. The maize variety used for study was “DMRH-1308”. Results clearly showed that application of straw mulching significantly increased plant height (cm), dry matter accumulation (g m-2), leaf area index, chlorophyll content, grain, stover and biological yield over no mulch.Further, application of 75% RDF + 2.5 t ha-1 Vermicompost + Azotobacter recorded maximum plant height (cm), dry matter accumulation (g m-2), leaf area index, chlorophyll content grain, stover and biological yield over control.
