Effectiveness of homoeopathic constitutional medicine in management of Tinea corporis: A case report

Abstract

Tinea corporis (ringworm) is a superficial dermatophyte infection that often recurs after conventional antifungal therapy, particularly in patients with a history of suppressed skin conditions. A 28-year-old female presented with recurrent circular erythematous lesion on the left scapular region, associated with intense itching. She had previously taken allopathic treatment with temporary improvement. Past history revealed eczema 15 years ago. Family history was significant for diabetes mellitus in both parents. The patient exhibited constitutional features including introversion, desire for salt and pickles, profuse perspiration, chilly thermal state, and obesity with pot belly. A constitutional homoeopathic remedy in LM potency was prescribed, selected on the basis of totality of symptoms and miasmatic background. The patient showed gradual improvement in itching and lesion resolution without recurrence over follow-up. This case highlights the role of individualized constitutional homoeopathic treatment in recurrent dermatophytosis using LM potency, emphasizing holistic management beyond symptomatic relief.
