International Journal of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry · 2026 · Vol. 11(3) · pp. 82–83
Abstract
Myiasis inlivestock occurs as a common problem and is mostly evident during the rainy seasons. In the present study, a three year old graded murrah was presented to the Veterinary Dispensary with a complaint of wound in the ear lobes. On observation of the ear lobes presence of visible maggots, necrotic tissue and foul odour with ocassional discharges from the ear lobes was seen. It was treated with potassium permanganate solution, application of povidine solution, Himax ointment and Meloxicam, chlorphenarmine maleate, Ivermectin and Streptopenicilins. Good recovery is seen after 7 days of continuous treatment.
