Examining the behavior of mutual fund investor and their investing pattern in Kumaun region of Uttarakhand
Abstract
A mutual fund is a type of trust that combines the money of investors and distributes it as marketable securities. Unitholders receive a portion of the ensuing capital appreciation based on how many units they possess. little costs, little administration, expert asset management, and diversification and investors in mutual funds can take advantage of numerous other advantages. The performance of the mutual fund is based on the value of its net assets known as NAV. The present study used primary data for this purpose and 600 respondents from Kumaun region of Uttarakhand have been included as participants in the study. Statistical test have been used for analysis. The result indicate that investing pattern and fund selection is impacted by the factors including age, gender and other behavioral factors. Considering at least 385 samples required as per Cochran’s Sample size formula, total 660 questionnaires were distributed among the population. Out of which 630 were received back. Out of which 30 questionnaires were found incomplete hence, dropped and 600 samples were taken for further analysis. The current research examine the perception, attitude and behaviour of the investors towards investing with mutual funds in Kumaun region of the state Uttarakhand with an aim of influencing the investors to make rational decisions regarding the investments, as well as, to achieve decent returns on their investments. The results of the research, give significant information on the demographic, economical and behavioural factors of mutual fund investment trend within the region.
