Outcome of mirabegron therapy on urodynamically proven overactive bladder versus symptoms based overactive bladder in adult

Abstract

Detrusor overactivity (DO) is the underlying pathology of overactive bladder (OAB) confirmed by urodynamic study (UDS), although symptomatic diagnosis alone may not always correlate with urodynamic findings. Prospective quasi-experimental study was conducted to compare the outcomes of mirabegron therapy among 83 patients divided into 2 groups- Group A, Group A (urodynamically proven) and Group B (symptoms based OAB). After 6 months of treatment, 57.1% of patients in Group A showed mild symptoms and 42.9% had moderate symptoms, while in Group B, 12.2% had mild and 87.8% had moderate symptoms.
