Clinical resolution of fibroadenoma following homoeopathic treatment: A case report

Abstract

Fibroadenoma is a common benign breast tumor seen in young women. It arises from glandular and fibrous tissue and presents as a painless, firm, well-defined, mobile breast lump. It is hormone-sensitive and may enlarge during pregnancy or hormonal stimulation. The case study here is a detailed analysis of a 31-year-old female presented with the complaints of pain and swelling in the right breast along with involuntary urination on coughing for the past six months. She has a past history of fibroadenoma of the right breast, for which surgical excision was done 15 years ago. Following childbirth, she developed recurrent pain and swelling in the right breast for the past five years, which is aggravated by mental stress and breathing. She also complains of cramp-like pain in the lower abdomen since delivery. She reports difficulty in breathing for the past five years, which began after COVID-19 infection. Additionally, she complains of discoloration of urine since delivery; the urine becomes white and turbid at times and occasionally turns yellow or reddish. After a detailed case taking, miasmatic evaluation and repertorisation Sepia Officinalis were prescribed. With continued follow-up over a 14-month period, the fibroadenomas in left breast had resolved and a significant reduction in the size and number of breast lesions in right breast following treatment.
