Evaluation of safflower extract's anti-proliferative potential on A549 lung cancer cells

Abstract

The present research aimed to examine the effect of safflower extract on the human lung cancer cell line A549. The MTT assay, which measures cytotoxicity and cell survival, was used to investigate the impact of the safflower extract on A549 cells. The MTT assay was performed to examine the cytotoxic potential of safflower extract against the A549 cancer cell line. The IC50 concentration was calculated after 24 hrs. The IC50 value of safflower extract against lung adenocarcinoma cells A549 was found to be 56.85±0.16 μg/ml. extract was found to be suitable to develop safflower anticancer drugs against the lung cancer cell line A549.
