Effect of Bio-fertilizer and organic manure on growth and yield of blackgram (Vigna mungo L.)
Abstract
The field experiment was conducted during Zaid 2024 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P.) to study the “Effect of Bio-fertilizer and organic manure on Growth and Yield of Black gram”. To study treatment consisting of two different Bio-fertilizers (Rhizobium 20g/kg seed and PSB 20g/kg seed) and three organic manures viz, (Vermicompost 0.7 t/ha, Farm yard manure (4 t/ha) and Poultry manure (0.6 t/ha)). There were 9 treatments, each of which was replicated three times and laid out in randomized block design. The results showed that Significantly taller plant height (49.24 cm), maximum number of nodules/plant (28.73), higher plant dry weight (38.76 g/plant), and yield attributing parameters viz., maximum number of pods/plant (29.3), and maximum number of seeds/pod (12.3), and yield parameters viz., higher seed yield (918.01 kg/ha), higher stover yield (1950.56 kg/ha) were recorded in Treatment 9 [Rhizobium (20 g/kg) + PSB (20 g/kg) + poultry manure (0.6 t/ha)]. Maximum gross return (1,03,503.36 INR/ha), net return (72,003.36 INR/ha) and Benefit cost ratio (2.29) were also recorded in treatment 9 [Rhizobium (20 g/kg) + PSB (20 g/kg) + poultry manure (0.6 t/ha)].
