Effect of plant geometry and nitrogen management on productivity in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) crop

Abstract

A field experiment entitled "Effect of Plant Geometry and Nitrogen Management on Productivity in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)" was conducted during the Rabi season of 2024-25 at the research farm of Rama University.The study aimed to evaluate the influence of different planting geometries and nitrogen levels on wheat growth, yield, and economic returns.The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with three replications, consisting of three planting methods-cross sowing, border sowing, and traditional sowing-and four nitrogen levels: 0, 50, 100, and 150 kg N/ha.Growth parameters such as plant height, dry weight, tiller number, leaf area.Results indicated that border sowing significantly improved plant height, dry matter accumulation, leaf area.Among nitrogen levels, application of 150 kg N/ha produced the highest values for most growth was recorded with 100 kg N/ha, indicating economic efficiency.
