The dimension of the organisational culture of companies in the wood-furniture sector in Greece
Abstract
Organizational culture is the personality of the organization. According to a plethora of researches that have been conducted, they have proven that the culture of an organization is inextricably linked to the culture of all the people in its environment. The culture of an organization is shaped over time and is a connecting element for high performance as well as smooth and efficient operation of the business. The purpose of this study is to investigate the dimension of organizational culture prevailing in wood-furniture enterprises operating in the wider Greek territory. Furthermore, this study explores the differences that emerge in the organizational culture of Greek wood-furniture companies, based on the specific characteristics of the firms, such as the sector of activity and the geographical region of their headquarters. The research methodology followed was based on quantitative analysis, using a structured questionnaire. The research data were collected from 134 enterprises in the wood and furniture sector from all over Greece.
