Impact of financial education on personal budgeting and saving habits

International Journal of Applied Research · 2025 · Vol. 11(6) · pp. 109–113

Abstract

In today’s dynamic financial environment, individuals face increasing challenges in managing their personal finances. This study investigates the impact of financial education on budgeting and saving habits, particularly among young adults aged 20 to 35. Using a primary research approach with a sample of 150 respondents, the study analyses the role of financial literacy in promoting disciplined budgeting and consistent saving behavior. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using statistical tools such as descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, and correlation analysis. Findings indicate that individuals exposed to financial education are more likely to track expenses, maintain monthly budgets, and save regularly. These results highlight the need for integrating financial literacy programs into educational curricula and community outreach initiatives.
