An explorative study on the knowledge of adolescent girls regarding prevention of urinary tract infection in a selected nursing college, Belagavi

Abstract

Adolescencernis the transitional phase of growth and development between childhood andrnadulthood. Urinary Tract Infection is one of the most common problem amongrnadolescents. A descriptive survey approach was used among forty nursingrnstudents studying in KAHER institute of nursing sciences to assess thernknowledge regarding prevention of urinary tract infection. A self structuredrnknowledge questionnaire was used for data collection. Findings of the studyrnshowed that Majority 21 (52.5%) of the participants has the average knowledgernscores regarding prevention of urinary tract infection, 9 (22.5%) has poor knowledgernscore and 10 (25%) has good knowledge scores.
