Effect of micronutrients on growth and yield of summer groundnut (Arachis hypogea) varieties

Abstract

The field experiment was conducted during Zaid 2024 at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P.) to study the “Effect of Micronutrients on Growth and Yield of Summer Groundnut Varieties”. To study treatment consisting of three micronutrients are Boron 0.2%, Zinc 0.5%, Iron 0.5% and three varieties viz, Kadiri-6, Kadiri Lepakshi, TAG-24, There were 10 treatments, each of which was replicated three times and laid out in randomized block design. The results showed that Kadiri-6 along with Iron 0.5% exhibited the taller plant (51.33), while the maximum number of nodules/plant (111.66), higher plant dry weight (47.00 g), maximum number of pods/plant (16.33), maximum number of kernels/pod (2.00), seed index (31.33 g), Pod yield (3.90 t/ha), seed yield (2.98 t/ha), haulm yield (5.78 t/ha), and harvest index (33.55%) was recorded in treatment 5 [Zinc (0.5%) + Kadiri Lepakshi]. Similarly, maximum gross return (INR 147858.30/ha), net return (INR 98219.60/ha) and benefit cost ratio (1.98) was also recorded in treatment 5 [Zinc (0.5%) + Kadiri Lepakshi] as compared to other treatments.
