Management of non-union scaphoid: A case report

Abstract

Carpal bone fractures typically affect the scaphoid. 60–80% of all carpal bones are scaphoid fractures, which are most common in young people who fall on an ulnarly deviated, strained, and pronated hand. Fractures that go untreated or are treated incorrectly can result in non-union, avascular necrosis, flexion deformity, progressive articular cartilage degeneration, and scaphoid nonunion advanced collapse (SNAC); one instance of nonunion scaphoid is documented after carelessness.
