Therapeutic effect of polyherbal Unani formulation in case of hepatitis C: A case report

Abstract
This case report presents the clinical trajectory of a 27-year-old male diagnosed with symptomatic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection in 2023 under the S.C.S.P. program at Baburiha village, Barabanki. The patient, suffering from recurrent hepatitis and an episode of hepatic encephalopathy, was treated with Unani medicine formulations. Within a year, the patient showed symptomatic improvement, and ultrasound and laboratory findings returned to normal values. The study explores the efficacy of Unani formulations such as Arq Mako, Arq Badiyan, Arq Kasni, and Majoon-e-Dabidul ward in improving liver function.
