Effect of nitrogen management through organic sources on vegetative growth of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium R.) var. IIHR-6

Abstract

The study titled "Effect of nitrogen management through organic sources on growth and flower yield of chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium R.) var. IIHR-6" was conducted at the Flower and Ornamental Nursery, College of Horticulture, Anand Agricultural University from August to January (2023-2024). Using a Randomized Block Design, ten treatments with three replications were tested to identify the best organic fertilizer and Bio NP combination. The results showed that T6 (80% N from vermicompost + Bio NP 1 l/ha) significantly improved maximum plant height (cm) (26.92, 58.64, 84.86 and 91.70), plant spread (cm) N-S (15.01, 24.23, 32.11 and 42.41), plant spread (cm) E-W (12.20, 20.01, 28.17 and 33.84) and number of secondary branches (15.37, 24.09, 29.40 and 35.45) at 30, 60, 90 and 120 DATP respectively.
